The Journal

The Journal is the official publication of the New Zealand College of Midwives. Backdated copies of the Journal can be downloaded from the bottom of this page. Electronic storage and distribution of full text articles are available from the databases CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health) database. http://www.cinahl.com .

The NZCOM journal is a biannual publication that focuses on midwifery issues. Whilst predominantly read by midwives in New Zealand, the Journal is read internationally and is of interest to all people involved in pregnancy and childbearing.

The Journal is published Biannually; usually April/May and October

Philosophy of the Journal:

To promote women’s health issues as they relate to childbearing women and their families
To promote the view of childbirth as a normal life event for the majority of women, and the midwifery professional’s role in effecting this
To provoke discussion of midwifery issues
To support the development and dissemination of New Zealand and international midwifery research

Views and opinions expressed in the Journal are not necessarily those of the New Zealand College of Midwives.
