CPIT’s Midwifery degree programme prepares students for autonomous practice as Midwives in any setting. Developed collaboratively between CPIT and Otago Polytechnic, the curriculum enables students to undertake the majority of their study in their own area through a blended delivery model of education. We currently have three permanent opportunities to teach on our midwifery programme for the 2011 academic year. One 0.8 full time equivalent (FTE) position is based in Christchurch at the city campus and the other 0.3 FTE is based on the West Coast. We would love to hear from you if you: · Are a midwife with an extensive midwifery clinical background · Have recent involvement in the provision of continuity of care · Have a commitment to education · Have an understanding of the socio-political context of midwifery in New Zealand A Masters Degree (or one near completion) is required and computer literacy and experience with e-learning would be an advantage. The positions will involve responsibility for coordination of student learning and practice experiences including teaching and practice facilitation opportunities. These positions may also include teaching in Christchurch at intervals during the year.
