Who are we?

A Group of registered Midwives who provide comprehensive, family centered Midwifery Care for families in Morrinsville, Te Aroha and outlying areas.

Most of the women we care for birth at Rhoda Read Maternity Unit but we also offer Home Births and care at Waikato Womens Hospital if this is wanted or needed. Rhoda Read Maternity Unit is a purpose built Lockwood building with two birthing rooms, including a large spa bath, 7 single bedrooms and is tastefully furnished providing a homelike atmosphere and environment. It is set in parklike grounds with tables and benches.

The unit is staffed 24 hrs a day by experienced Enrolled Nurses who work in closely with the Morrinsville Midwives and other Midwives who have access agreements to use the facility.

We all believe that with consistent, individualised assistance, given in a relaxed environment, mother and baby will return home happy, confident, healthy and independent.

All the Morrinsville Midwives are members of the NZ College of Midwives and have their practice reviewed annually.
