I believe that birth is one of the most wonderful life empowering experiences, and it will be an honour for me to help guide you in this unique and special journey.

I have been a Midwife for over 15years. Prior to this I was a Registered Nurse, working in New Zealand and overseas.

 

During my time as a Midwife I have worked in various settings so that I have gained valuable experience as a self employed Midwife or LMC (lead maternity carer).

Places of employment included are Waikato Hospital in Delivery suite- with more complicated births, working at Hamilton's two lovely birth centres- Waterford and River Ridge, and working for Wintec as a "Clinical Skills Tutor" with Midwifery Students. My background in Midwifery is a 'balanced one' giving me experience in both primary (normal) and secondary (more complicated) birthing.

I have been a self employed Midwife now for 4years, a role I value and enjoy as care is individualised and I am able to work with women through the entire birth spectrum- during pregnancy, birth, and after baby is born.

 

I am family orientated, am motivated in my personal & professional life, and have a positive outlook on life.

I have worked and travelled extensively overseas enabling me to have a greater understanding of different cultures and general 'worldiness'.

I welcome variety of culture, age, and difference. I am family focused and flexible in my practise with safety of mother and baby always paramount.

 My style is warm, friendly and relaxed yet very proactive when referral to specialist care is warranted.

 

I service Hamilton and outlying areas birthing women at Waterford, River Ridge and Waikato Hospital.

I am based at Waterford Birth Centre where I have my clinic room, working with the fabulous 'Total Care Midwifery' collective of backup Midwives: Megan Holmes, Tracey Aubin and Lara Evans.
