I am a midwifery lecturer and midwife working in Dunedin. I carry a small caseload and provide total midwifery care because I feel it is important for my midwifery skills to get out of the classroom and keep in touch with the 'real world'.

I am completely committed to providing total midwifery care in partnership with women and their whanau or families.

I passionately believe in the 'normality' of childbirth, and that midwifery care should be focused on the woman, who has the right to free, informed choice and consent. I have my practice regularly reviewed by the local Midwifery Standards Review Committee and am an active member of the New Zealand College of Midwives. I have just completed my Masters of Midwifery at Victoria University of Wellington.

I am married to Mark and have two children, Ellen and Andrew. I hate housework and love reading 'Mills and Boon' romances when I have the time! My midwifery interests range widely from home birth, VBAC, to midwives' use of the Internet.
