Hi and congratulations on your pregnancy! I am an experienced midwife, gaining my degree from AUT in 2004. Since then I have worked both as an independent midwife and as a hospital staff midwife. I have a wide range of experience, having worked in Auckland City Hospital delivery suite where I had the opportunity to care for many women - both normal and highly complex pregnancies and births. I have really enjoyed working with women of many different cultures and in particular had a high number of Pacific and Maori women that I cared for when I worked as an independent midwife. I moved to Dunedin with my partner and three children in January and I have been working at Queen Mary Maternity as a staff midwife since February this year. Now that I have spent some time getting to know how things are done here, it’s time for me to return to my true passion of being an independent midwife.

I believe that every woman’s pregnancy experience is unique and my role is to help facilitate your journey into parenthood. I provide full pregnancy, birth and postnatal care until your baby is 6 weeks old. I am skilled in all aspects of labour and birth, including water-birth and believe that every woman has the right to make informed decisions regarding her care. I am joining a midwifery practice with Mary Ritchie and Michelle Archer, both of whom have worked in Dunedin for many years. I am available for late bookings if you have just moved here or if you need to transfer to Queen Mary for pregnancy complications. I am also available to provide labour care for out of town women who choose to have their baby in Dunedin. I look forward to hearing from you - phone, text or email me so we can have a chat!
