I qualified as a nurse in London, England in 1983 and then as a midwife in 1989. Since then I have worked full time as a midwife stopping only to have my two babies Rosie and James. My son was born at home and I breastfed both for long periods. I spent three years working in England as an independent midwife specialising in natural and active birth, supporting women in their choices and helping them and their partners to gain the skills needed for parenting. I love being a midwife. I enjoy getting to know my clients and working with them to achieve happy and healthy births. I feel privileged to attend families at this important time in their lives and I give a high standard of support and advice in the post-natal period. I spend as much time as possible with my family and enjoy walking, swimming, reading and crafts.
