I have been working within health care for over 25 years, first as a registered nurse then as a midwife. I have had the pleasure of assisting women have their babies for over 15 years at home, hospital and in birth centres. I have lived and worked in various places includingUK, France andWest Africa, practising in a variety of cultures. I now live in Kaiwaka with my husband and enjoy the beauty and space of being near to the land.  I enjoy walking with my dogs, swimming, growing our own food and yoga.

I am passionate about women and their families getting the information they need so that they can make the decisions about the type of birth they would like. Women’s freedom to choose is central to the way I work and I love to work in partnership with women and their families.  I support holistic birth that incorporates the whole woman and her Whanau/family. I am happy to assist births in birth centres like the one at Wellsford, in hospital and also at your home if you prefer. I am able to use water for labour and or birth if that is a safe option and your preference. Working with you and your needs, I am happy to use all birth positions and use alternatives, if appropriate and indicated, such as homeopathy and aromatherapy to ease the process. Postnatally I continue to support you 4-6 weeks following the birth visiting you at home when needed.
