I trained as a midwife in1984 and previously qualified as a registered nurse in 1982. I subsequently trained in neonatal intensive care in the UK in 1987.

I work in the Nelson region and do travel to rural areas NW of Nelson (Hira /RaiValley, offering both home and hospital birth. I provide care for around 50 families per year. Visits are generally in your own home.

My midwifery philosophy is holistic, encompassing the physical, emotional and spiritual. My view is that this is your body, your baby, your birth experience.

My part in that is to walk the journey with you, smoothing the path, exploring all your options, supporting you to reach your full potential to make that journey in your own unique way.
