Midwives on Barrington is a friendly, family centred practice. Each woman is given personalised care from her own midwife, with backup support from our dedicated team. Our comprehensive range of midwifery services include

- Free pregnancy tests
- Appointments at our rooms or your home
- Regular assessments of you and your baby throughout your pregnancy
- Antenatal education
- Specialist consultations if required
- Your choice of home or hospital birth
- Birthing pool for hire
- Individualised care through your labour and birth
- Postnatal visits at home up to 6 weeks
- Breastfeeding advice and support
- Liaison with community support services
All Midwifery services are free of charge.
Childbirth: A natural part of life
Pregnancy, birth and parenting are normal life events. We are committed to nurturing and supporting women through this natural process. We work in partnership with women and recognise and respect the knowledge, skills and experience each woman brings to her pregnancy and birth
Freedom of choice
We acknowledge each woman's right to take responsibility for decisions involving herself, her baby and her family. Midwives on Barrington provide education, information and sound advice on the many healthcare options available. Developing a maternity care plan with each woman, based on informed choice and consent, helps us to provide midwifery care that's right for you.
Safeguarding your wellbeing
The wellbeing of you and your baby is of great importance. Through a sensible, proactive approach to healthcare, together with safe and trusted midwifery practices, we ensure you have the best possible care at all times. Midwives on Barrington consult with other health professionals and refer to specialists where necessary. We are all members of the New Zealand College of Midwives and have our practice reviewed annually.

We work in a professional and ethical way, acknowledging and respecting each family's unique physical, psychological, emotional, social, spiritual and cultural needs. Our Barrington Street premises provide a comfortable, family-friendly environment with safe indoor & outdoor play areas for children and ample on-site car parking.
