Midwifery Associates was the first practice in Christchurch to be established following the amendment to the Nurses Act in 1990.

Our philosophy

Birth is a normal life event. Our role is one of supporting women. We work closely with both the woman and her family. We aim to deliver care in a manner that is flexible, creative, empowering and supportive.

We offer

Individualised childbirth education

Check-ups either in your home or at the midwives' clinicsChoice of place of birth - home or hospital

Visits by the midwife up to six weeks after your birth (on average 10 visits)

Referral and liaison with other health professionals

Advice and support with breastfeeding.

Why should you chose Midwifery Associates?

We are a group of six midwives with many years of happy birthing experience. We are all members of the New Zealand College of Midwives (NZCOM) and are reviewed annually by the NZCOM Standards Review Committee. We give you high quality care by limiting the number of clients we take on.
