Mid Canterbury Midwives work collaboratively in pairs, to provide the best possible care for you and your family, passionately providing pregnancy, labour and birth care for local women. You can choose to birth at home or in the Ashburton Maternity Centre. We also provide antenatal/postnatal care for women who, under the Obstetric Referral Guidelines, are recommended to birth at Christchurch Women’s Hospital.

We provide:

· Pregnancy testing

· Individualised free maternity care

· Initial booking visit in your home

· A seamless co-ordination of care throughout from our experienced team

· 24 hour availability for emergencies

· Referrals to other health professionals

· 7-12 home visits after the birth of your baby up to 6 weeks of age.
