Midwifery is something I have always dreamed of doing. I started my nursing career in 1969 in Samoa and practiced as a theatre and maternity nurse, and then came to New Zealand and completed an Obstetric nursing qualification in 1987. I decided to do a Midwifery qualification, so I could practice as a midwife and completed this in 1993.

My husband and I live on the North Shore and have three children and 3 grandchildren, all of whom live overseas. I lived in Samoa until 1982 when we moved to Sydney, Australia where I practiced as a Theatre nurse. In 1985 we moved to New Zealand and I worked as a theatre nurse at Middlemore and then a midwife at North Shore Hospital.

I care for up to 52 women a year providing antenatal, delivery and after birth care from pregnancy tests until 4-6 weeks after the birth.

Other Services at Maternity Matters include: Baby on the Move (Baby products available for hire or purchase at competitive rates), Parenting Education Classes, Pregnancy Yoga, Massage Therapy, Peadiatrician Services, Dietician Services, Podiatrist Services, and Coffee Morning Mothers Groups.
