I love being a midwife. I love encouraging and supporting women and their families to develop their potential and strengths during the time of pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. I work between Puhoi and Kaiwaka and support women to have their babies at home, in a birth unit, or in North Shore or Whangarei Hospitals. A New Zealander, I qualified as a midwife in Scotland in 1984. Since then I worked 11 years in England in all aspects of midwifery care, and have spent some time working in aid agencies overseas using my midwifery skills.
