I registered as a Direct Entry Midwife in 2008, and live in Hatfields Beach Orewa with my three children and eco-biobuilder husband; and my main hobby is hatha yoga. My own childbirth experiences inspired me to join the maternity profession, and I chose to become a midwife due to my immense appreciation of how incredibly essential it is for a childbearing woman to have access to the presence of a caring, empathetic, holistic and technically skilled midwife; in a relationship based on partnership. The birth of every human is a sacred moment of time, and so I feel immensely honoured and privileged every time I am able to assist with the safe arrival of a newborn. My practice encourages a healthy pregnancy and natural birth, particularly referring clients to naturopathic complementary therapies and practitioners, including homeopathy, herbal therapy, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and acupuncture.
