2012 Pre-registrations

Pre-registrations from prospective graduate midwives for the 2012 Programme are being accepted now. Pre-registrations can be made by completing the Programme enrolment form and:

faxing it to 03 684 9435
posting it the MFYP National Coordinator – Ann Shaw, NZCOM, PO Box 21106 Edgeware Christchurch 8143 or
using this email link mfyp@nzcom.org.nz .

You should receive an email response within 72 hours - if you do not, then please phone as your email may have been blocked by the spam filter.

When pre-registering please include the following information:

Address including post code
Phone number
Mobile number
Date of birth
Ethnicity
School of Midwifery attended
date sitting the national examination eg. November 2011, December 2011 or March 2012
Intended work setting eg. employed or self employed and geographical area
Mentor name, if known

A list of available mentors by geographical area is available from the MFYP National Coordinator, on request.

2011 Programme Update

One hundred and sixteen (116) graduates entered the Register of Midwives in December 2010 and 6 graduates in April 2011 ie, 122 in total.

Of the 122 who entered the Register, 119 (97.5%) have taken up their APC - of the three who have not, two are practising overseas.

One hundred and sixteen (116) of the 118 who enrolled for the Programe, have commenced their Programme - 109 on the 1^st of February 2011 and 7 commenced on the 1^st of May 2011.

That gave an overall Programme enrolment rate of 96.7% and a Programme commencement rate of 98.6% for 2011 (118 enrolled graduates, 116 of whom commenced the Programme).

2010 Programme Participants

A total of 125 graduates applied for and were accepted into the Programme. Three withdrew from the Programme for personal reasons and six did not complete their Programme requirements. This gave a Programme completion rate of 92.8% for 2010. We wish all the 2010 participants the best for their ongoing midwifery careers.
