Family Violence: A Midwifery Perspective

Family violence is a significant public health issue for women and children.

This workshop supports midwives to expand their understanding of family violence and explore their professional role and challenges associated with it.

The workshop provides midwives with practical tools to routinely enquire about, respond appropriately and refer victims of family violence to relevant services.

Workshop costs:

This workshop is funded by the Ministry of Health and there is no charge to midwives to attend.

To enable professional discussion places are limited, book early to avoid disappointment.

The New Zealand College of Midwives is approved as a provider of continuing midwifery education by the Midwifery Council.

The College has allocated this workshop 8 hours of continuing midwifery education.
