The College has a Resolution support process to help wāhine/people resolve concerns they may have about their midwifery care. The process involves a discussion with a representative of a consumer of midwifery services and a midwifery representative, offering a neutral, accessible, free and confidential service to address any concerns about care received.
Resolution support can recommend a midwife undertake professional development, including a midwifery standards review or further education or training, but does not have the ability to discipline or remove the midwife’s right to practise. The Resolution support team can advise about other avenues to direct their concerns if necessary.
