Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role:
Ngāti Porou Oranga are looking for two experienced and passionate Caseloading Midwives to join our Nāti Pēpi Team.
As a Nāti Pēpi Caseloading Midwife you will be working across our East Coast communities from Uawa to Potaka. We have our very own Primary Care Birthing unit ‘Te Puna Wai’ situated in the center of our rohe Te Puia Springs.
Nāti Pēpi is an indigenous maternal and infant wellbeing service newly established in Te Tairāwhiti. Grounded in Kaupapa Māori values, we deliver an integrated model of care that weaves together clinical midwifery services, social and advocacy support, E Tipu E Rea Tamariki Ora nursing, and Rongoā Māori practices.
Our approach is holistic and whānau-centred, recognising that the wellbeing of pēpi begins with the strength of whānau. By blending mātauranga Māori with clinical excellence, we invest in whānau ora — strengthening whakapapa, restoring traditional knowledge, and supporting māmā, pēpi and whānau from pregnancy through the early years of life.
As a Caseloading Midwife, you will work within a dynamic, professional and nurturing team environment with a shared caseload, where we support the professional and cultural development of our kaimahi.
If you are ready for a new adventure surrounded by a beautiful stretch of rich East Coast coastline and native forest back drops or have heard the call to ‘come back home and work for your whānau’, nau mai, hoki mai.
This is a Permanent Full-time position primarily based on the East Coast, working a shared roster, offering work life balance.
