Each region of the College has a Resolution support process to help wāhine resolve concerns or questions they may have about their midwifery care. The support process consists of a representative of a consumer of midwifery services and a midwifery representative nominated by the local region of the College.

The Resolution support process offers a neutral, accessible, free, confidential service to address concerns women | people may have regarding their midwifery care. This service was established by the New Zealand College of Midwives.

Resolution support can recommend a midwife undertake professional development, including a midwifery standards review or further education or training,  but does not have the ability to discipline or remove the midwife’s right to practice. The Resolution support team can advise women about other avenues to direct their concerns if necessary.

For further information about your nearest Resolution support team please contact The College.
