Complex care postgraduate education funding

Complex care – students in library

Applications are open for the 2024 Complex Care pathway with Otago Polytechnic and Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University

Complex care midwifery education is postgraduate level study which enables midwives to develop their clinical skills in specific areas of practice which are relevant to their current work setting, or possible future areas of practice. It is formal postgraduate education which requires attendance at academic lectures, assignments and course work as well as clinical placements.

To apply for funding for Complex Care education you will need to:

  • Enrol with Otago Polytechnic or Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington.
  • Apply to the New Zealand College of Midwives for funding to complete the programme.   Please login to the Collee portal and click on the Complex Care Icon to enter a new application.

If you are an employed midwife:

  • Your application will need to be endorsed by your employer confirming that you will be eligible for the time off your usual rostered work to complete the programme expectations

If you are a self-employed midwife:

  • Commit to being available (ie. arrange locum cover to ensure you can complete the programme requirements)

Please see the link below for more details:

It is important for you to complete the enrolment early. The College’s relationships with the education providers means that fees can be paid directly from the College to the provider.
