If a midwife’s booster vaccination deadline falls within three months after having had Covid-19 infection, the immunisation handbook states that:

A single dose of mRNA-CV is recommended to be given at least three calendar months after completion of the two-dose primary course to those aged 18 years and above. In cases where confirmed COVID-19 infection occurs between primary course and booster dose, give a single dose of mRNA-CV from three calendar months after recovery, or at least three calendar months from the first confirmed positive PCR test if asymptomatic, and when cleared to leave isolation by a clinician (see section 5.5.7). A booster dose is not currently approved by Medsafe for use in those aged under 18 years.

Midwives won’t be able to get their booster until 3 months following their infection. If this means that they fall outside of the 6 month window required by the COVID-19 Public Health Response Order, they will need to apply for a Temporary Medical Exemption.
