Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the role
As an Academic Staff Member – Midwifery, you will use your experience as a registered midwife to support and teach midwifery students in Greymouth.
In this role, you will:
- Facilitate hui ākonga, guide student learning, and provide supervision, assessment, and pastoral care for students in the midwifery programme
- Deliver engaging teaching sessions
- Create meaningful practice opportunities for students to develop their skills
- Build strong connections with practitioners in clinical practice areas to enhance student learning
Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and experience
- Registered Midwife with current NZ Annual Practicing Certificate
- Membership of NZ College of Midwives
- Extensive midwifery clinical background
- Understanding of cultural safety
- Good understanding of the socio-political context of midwifery in NZ
- A minimum of five years post registration clinical experience as a registered Midwife
- Recent involvement in the provision of continuity of care as a LMC midwife and/or core midwife
- Clinical and educational qualifications and skills that support teaching of midwifery
- Digital literacy including – competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
