Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the role

As an Academic Staff Member – Midwifery, you will use your experience as a registered midwife to support and teach midwifery students in Greymouth.

In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate hui ākonga, guide student learning, and provide supervision, assessment, and pastoral care for students in the midwifery programme
  • Deliver engaging teaching sessions
  • Create meaningful practice opportunities for students to develop their skills
  • Build strong connections with practitioners in clinical practice areas to enhance student learning

Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and experience

  • Registered Midwife with current NZ Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Membership of NZ College of Midwives
  • Extensive midwifery clinical background
  • Understanding of cultural safety
  • Good understanding of the socio-political context of midwifery in NZ
  • A minimum of five years post registration clinical experience as a registered Midwife
  • Recent involvement in the provision of continuity of care as a LMC midwife and/or core midwife
  • Clinical and educational qualifications and skills that support teaching of midwifery
  • Digital literacy including – competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
