Community Midwife – Antenatal & Postnatal

Location: Marlborough

Tenure: Fixed term 1.0 FTE position (80 hours a fortnight) covering parental leave from mid-April for up to 12 months.

Working 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Sunday as negotiated with your manager.

  • Provide antenatal and postnatal care in clinics and in the community
  • Position suitable for a new graduate or experienced midwife
  • Open to part-time/job share
  • Work in a small, close-knit, friendly team with the caseload midwifery team, core midwives and community LMC’s

We are looking for a NZ registered midwife with loads of passion and commitment to join our maternity team. As a community midwife you will support safe, high-quality provision of antenatal and postnatal care for women unable to access a self-employed LMC.

Wairau Hospital is a secondary level maternity unit with approximately 500 births per year. The core, community and LMC midwives work as a team with our Obstetric, Anaesthetic and Paediatric colleagues.

You will be a high performing midwife with total commitment to women centred and culturally respectful care. You will have excellent time management and organisational skills as well as the ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the broader organisational healthcare objectives. You will have access to Midwifery Educator support and a range of clinical experiences within your role.

The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $83,667 (for a new graduate) up to $115,715 (before overtime and allowances).
