We are seeking an experienced registered midwife to join our team in a contracted, flexible role, providing clinical midwifery advice and project support as required.
This role does not have set or regular hours and will vary depending on workload. The successful applicant must be available to increase hours during early to mid-June 2026 to provide locum cover and support key activities during this period.
About the role
Working from the national office in Ōtautahi | Christchurch, this role provides professional midwifery advice, clinical support, and project assistance across College services.
Key responsibilities
- Provide telephone-based clinical midwifery advice and support to members and College services
- Offer midwifery advice to other health professionals, related agencies, and members of the public
- Assist with the development of consensus statements and submissions
- Contribute to project work as requested
- Provide advisor relief support during the ICM Congress in June 2026
About you
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a registered midwife with a current APC
- Be available to work in person in the national office in Ōtautahi | Christchurch.
- Have the flexibility to increase availability during early to mid-June 2026
- Bring strong communication skills and sound clinical judgement
- Be comfortable working autonomously within a small, professional team
