This is your opportunity to become a VSA Volunteer to share your experience, skills and knowledge to serve and capacity build in Kiribati. Work alongside our local partner organisation to plan and create a brighter future for all.  

The Kiribati School of Nurses, Midwives and Health Sciences is searching for a volunteer Midwifery Education Adviser in supporting their new curriculum rollout of the Post-graduate Diploma of Midwifery. This is a unique role with an opportunity to make a real impact on the quality of midwifery care for Kiribati and contribute to the reduction of the child mortality rate for children under 5.

If you are interested in this opportunity, below are some of the key skills and experiences that we’re looking for.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience as a midwife including emergency maternal and neonatal care
  • Experience in delivering curriculum, mentoring and coaching student nurses
  • Experience in creating midwifery and maternity resources; manuals, process maps, visual guides
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Midwifery Education, Simulation and Clinical Supervision and Assessment
  • Post-graduate qualification in midwifery/nurse education, public health, or related field, Emergency Maternal and Neonatal Certification.

Important note: Due to our VSA funding requirements, our volunteers must be a NZ citizen or NZ Permanent Resident to progress further in our recruitment process.
