About the role – Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
Join our midwifery team – based at Manawa, Te Papa Hauora Health Precinct.
We’re seeking a passionate educator to support the next generation of midwives.
In this role, you will:
- facilitate hui ākonga, guide student learning, and provide supervision, assessment and pastoral care for students in the midwifery programme
- deliver engaging teaching sessions
- create meaningful practice opportunities for students to develop their skills
- build strong connections with practitioners in clinical practice areas to enhance student learning.

Skills and experience – Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako
- Registered Midwife with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
- Membership of the NZ College of Midwives
- A master’s degree (or working towards this) is required
- Extensive midwifery clinical background
- Understanding of cultural safety
- Good understanding of the socio-political context of midwifery in NZ
- An Ara-recognised teaching qualification (where an appointment is made without such a qualification, the appointee will be required to obtain an appropriate qualification within three years of appointment)
