Midwifery Lecturer – Manawa, Health Precinct

About the role – Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Join our midwifery team – based at Manawa, Te Papa Hauora Health Precinct.

We’re seeking a passionate educator to support the next generation of midwives.

In this role, you will:

  • facilitate hui ākonga, guide student learning, and provide supervision, assessment and pastoral care for students in the midwifery programme
  • deliver engaging teaching sessions
  • create meaningful practice opportunities for students to develop their skills
  • build strong connections with practitioners in clinical practice areas to enhance student learning.

Skills and experience – Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

  • Registered Midwife with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
  • Membership of the NZ College of Midwives
  • A master’s degree (or working towards this) is required
  • Extensive midwifery clinical background
  • Understanding of cultural safety
  • Good understanding of the socio-political context of midwifery in NZ
  • An Ara-recognised teaching qualification (where an appointment is made without such a qualification, the appointee will be required to obtain an appropriate qualification within three years of appointment)
