About you
Exciting opportunities are available for qualified midwives who want to be part of an internationally well-regarded maternity team and make a positive impact while working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, and supportive team. Positions are immediately available across New Zealand in hospital, community and rural-based placements.
From pre-conception through to around six weeks postnatal, midwives are the primary providers of lead maternity care, with over ninety percent of women choosing a midwife as their lead maternity carer (LMC). We advocate for a respectful and safe approach involving multiple services to deliver strength and recovery-focused care that is culturally safe, evidence-based and values-based.

Salary and benefits
With four weeks of annual leave and twelve paid public holidays you have time to explore our beautiful country and raise a family in our diverse communities. Along with your base salary you will have ongoing professional development (unionised members receive a CAD $813 (NZD $1,000) education allowance annually) and will work alongside a multi-disciplinary and supportive team.
- Registered midwives annual salaries range NZ $82K – NZ $108K plus allowances
- Community midwives annual salaries range NZ $83K – NZ $115K plus allowances
- Senior designated midwives annual salaries range NZ $115K – NZ $162K plus allowances
Additional allowances are paid on top of base salary and vary due to location and service.
