Midwifery is a calling that demands both heart and strength—but even the most dedicated midwives can feel the toll of witnessing trauma, navigating complex outcomes, and supporting others through emotionally charged experiences.

Resilient Midwifery: Trauma-Informed and Compassionate Practice is a dynamic and reflective workshop designed to help midwives build emotional resilience while fostering a culture of care—for themselves, their colleagues, and the families they serve. Through interactive discussions and guided reflection, participants will explore the impact of trauma, learn the principles of trauma-informed care, and develop practical strategies to respond compassionately to distressing events.

From navigating unexpected outcomes to creating psychologically safe work environments, this workshop equips midwives at all levels with the tools to thrive, not just survive, in today’s demanding maternity care landscape.

Workshop costs:

Members $260.00 (Prices are including gst. Full catering and resources are included).

Non-Members $315.00 (Prices are including gst. Full catering and resources are included).

To enable professional discussion places are limited, book early to avoid disappointment.

The New Zealand College of Midwives is approved as a provider of continuing midwifery education by the Midwifery Council.
