At 10:50am tomorrow (Wednesday 29 April), the Chief Executive of the College of Midwives will address the Economic Response Committee, chaired by opposition leader, Hon. Simon Bridges.

The College of Midwives has repeatedly called for funding for midwives who have incurred covid-specific costs over the last 4-5 weeks, and received no financial support at all. Other primary health workforces have received funding, and while the College does not begrudge others receiving what they are entitled to, they do ask for consistency, a level playing field and pay equity in the recognition of the extra Covid-19 work and additional costs midwives have incurred, and continue to do so.

Speaking notes will be forwarded to the media once Ms Eddy finishes her presentation tomorrow morning. She will be available for interview from 1130am.
