This week is Measles Immunisation Week (3 – 7 November), a nationwide initiative to raise awareness of the MMR vaccine and protect people of all ages against the disease.
New Zealand is at a very high risk of a large measles outbreak. Population immunity is well below the 95% required to prevent outbreak, and there have been three separate measles incursions in recent weeks, with cases in several locations across Aotearoa.
The College has been working with Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora to provide information specifically for midwives.
