About the role
As a Clinical Midwife – Caseload, you will:
- Provide primary midwifery care across pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatal care
- Work within a low-risk caseload model, in collaboration with the wider healthcare team
- Deliver care across hospital and community settings, including liaison with Townsville University Hospital
- Provide clinical leadership, education and support to fellow midwives
- Participate in an on-call roster as part of the continuity of care model
What you’ll need
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Midwife with AHPRA
- Bachelor or Diploma of Midwifery (or equivalent)
- Ability (or willingness to develop) skills in:
- IV cannulation
- Water immersion
- Water birth
- Perineal suturing
- Speculum examination
- Commitment to completing required competencies (EPA, newborn exam, etc.)
- A passion for woman-centred, continuity-based care
Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
